These are reasonable questions.

Because nutritional deficiencies are real.

But vitamin supplements and vitamin deficiencies are not the same thing.

You may need treatment if you are genuinely deficient.

That does not mean everybody recovering from stroke needs a cupboard full of supplements.

"The more I take, the healthier I become."

Fat-soluble vitamins are particularly worth treating with respect because the body can store them.

Very high supplemental intakes may therefore carry risks.

There is a much better approach.

Check whether you actually have a deficiency.

If you do...

Treat it properly.

If your B12 is low, correct it.

If your folate is low, correct it.

If your vitamin D is low, address it.

That is evidence-based nutritional care.

But if your levels are normal...

Do not expect swallowing enormous doses of vitamins to suddenly force your brain to recover faster.
